7.24 Friday Faves – The Fitnessista

No! Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend? We’re enjoying some pool time after a lot of rain this week, Pilot is home (wahoo!), and we have an NCL event. I hope you have a fun and relaxing weekend ahead! When do your children go back to school? It’s been a little over a week and I can’t believe it. Liv will be in High School. How?!

(this week’s beautiful flowers are from Trader Joe’s. The whole bouquet was only $15 to put together.)
It’s time to round up the weekly Faves! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites, too, so please shout out your favorite in the comments section below.
7.24 Friday Faves
Fashion, beauty, random:
A trip to Orlando! We headed to Orlando last weekend to visit our friends who live in Sevilla. They are in Florida for a month, so it was the only chance to see them before school started. The crazy thing about the family life of a pilot is that you can decide to take a trip at the last minute if anything. We went back and forth with options and found that we could make it happen maybe 36 hours before we got to Orlando.

(thankfully our kids made each other’s best soulmates when they were 2 1/2 years old)
Whenever we see them, we pick up where we left off, and the girls have the best time together. We stayed at a hotel with an amazing pool and lazy river, did a day at Epcot, Disney Springs, dinner at Medieval Times, and just enjoyed hanging out. It was a 5 day trip and we packed a lot of fun into that time; it was perfect.

Worth mentioning here is that Epcot was a BLAST. We’re not too old as we usually choose Animal Kingdom or Disney World, but we really enjoyed the food, the rides (Exploration Track and Ratatouille were amazing and the kids were obsessed with Figment), and the slow pace. It didn’t feel as busy or chaotic as other parks, and the fireworks display was amazing.

Also, for my gluten-free friends, I have two 10/10 food recommendations for you:
(since we booked this at the last minute, I didn’t have time to plan as well as I usually do, but I found this Instagram page and you have so many gf options!! I booked a meal while lurking her page on the plane)
French Chefs at Epcot. They were very knowledgeable about gf options and brought gf bread to the table for me and P,

and the children’s chocolate mousse would be diiiiiiieeee because.

The shaved ice in Japan is also gf and you need it. (With coconut creme on top!)

(Heard I put on nails that last a day and put them on top. I’m a pro as you can see)
Another book of mine Sunny House on the Beach at Disney Springs. Most of their menu options can be made gf, the vibe and the food was delicious. It was dark while we were eating but you get the idea with this GF CHEESY BREAD. HHHHHHHHH.

Loving this Xirena dress! True to size and fabric quality is lovely.

Good news from my friends at HigherDOSE! They sent me their new Healthy Hair Ritual set, which includes a dermal stamp, their new light-activated hair serum, and an amazing accupressure brush. You can pack a full cycle with my favorite red light cap. Check out the new set here and use LIGHTACTIVED to get a discount until tomorrow!

Read, watch, listen:
I have watched this way too many times.
He finished this book (he devoured it on the plane) and went into this one.
What is your policy on bad language?? We’re tough about it here even though I admittedly let the F bomb slide every now and then lol.
Don’t forget to check out my collection of Nordstrom Sale favorites here!
A great episode of the podcast with two of my favorites.
Fitness, health, and good nutrition:
The return of Jennifer Aniston’s famous salad. On soccer practice nights, I’ll usually make something ahead of time to eat while P plays. I eat every single habit lol. For this one, I air fried the chicken thighs and sliced them and served them alongside the pineapple. So easy, so good, and the leftovers are amazing for lunch the next day.

You don’t have to train a ton of strength to see the benefits.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Have an amazing weekend and I’ll see you soon!
xoxo
Gina
