things made by Lola (eaten)

Lola never had an official blog introduction, but now she’s 6 months old and I’m sharing the mischief she gets into instead. It is very suitable in this way.
We knew that eventually we wanted to get another dog. When Maisey started acting like a grandma rather than a puppy – sleeping on the sofa and looking bored during the day – we thought it would be over soon. The pilot and I had discussed it and we knew we wanted to make it happen.
He wrapped the pieces in this Christmas puzzle:

The girls and I had each piece and when we put it together the girls cried, I was in tears because I was happy and it was nice to see them happy.
She realized we were going to pick a puppy and it would be a while before she was actually home with us, but the girls and I picked Lola the next day and she was flying to Salt Lake City during the week to pick her up. (We’re acting fast here haha.)

She is a whirlwind of joy and energy, and has been a wonderful friend and sister to Maisey. They already love each other and chase each other, play tug, fight, and sleep together. I am SO GLAD we did it.

At the same time, I didn’t realize that goldens are a very different breed. (Lola is a mini goldendoodle but I think they might be lying about the small part because of course it’s big and she’s not done growing haha.) They like to eat everything, get into everything, and act like they don’t hear you when you try to correct them. I’m not too worried about it because we have an amazing dog trainer and I know goldens are amazing dogs. (We have close friends who had a pet golden retriever and he was the cutest little boy.) As a puppy, it’s been a lot!
I realized that unlike our other dogs, Lola doesn’t have a proper internet introduction. This is because I spend most of my time chasing him and taking things out of his mouth. Instead of a formal introduction, let me tell you about all the things he wasted or ate, in the last month.

The sponge is all inside the bright pink marker. I was stroking him and saw that his beard was red. I said, “What are you eating?” she yawned showing her neon pink tongue. I found a sad empty highlighter shell in her dog bed, but everything else was gone. He is in good health.
P homework. Not once, but twice. I took a picture to show his teacher when we asked for another copy.
The entire bottom of all four of our breakfast chairs. You know the foam underneath that gives the seat squish and support? It’s gone. Come stay with us for breakfast and your booty can sink into your seat as you eat, too.
Several rolls of paper towels.
A perfect Eegee sandwich. P put it down on the table between bites, Lola jumped up and CHOMP. Everything, down his throat.
The hibiscus treewhich continues to grow even though he keeps poking it every day.
A baby bird in the backyard. Tom had to get it out of his mouth and unfortunately the sweet little bird didn’t make it.
Fruit salad. Many times during the day, I have to ask Siri if it is safe for the dog to eat a certain fruit, because she will steal it off the counter. He likes pears, mangoes, and watermelon. He really likes everything.
He tried to eat: our guinea pig. We have baby gates downstairs and one was open. He ran upstairs to where the guinea pig lives and our amazing house cleaner stopped him. Now we have to find an extra baby gate for the game room, where the guinea pig lives.
So tell me, friends: any tricks for golden doodles? He is walked every day and still has a lot of energy, but I hope we can start swimming with him soon.
I was thinking of getting him some puzzles if you can recommend any! And I’m waiting until I replace all the chairs in the breakfast nook.
